Melania Trump’s Inauguration Day Outfit Draws Bold Comparisons to a Fictional Character

As the official events of Inauguration Day 2025 kicked off, viewers at home couldn't help but notice Donald Trump's wife Melania Trump's outfit and draw bold comparisons to a fictional character.

On the morning of Monday, Jan. 20, the President-elect and Melania met with President Joe Biden and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden at the White House ahead of Trump's swearing-in. The four posed for photos that soon made it to social media, where users weighed in on Melania's Inauguration Day outfit.

For her husband's big day, Melania wore a dark navy coat with a matching navy hat with a white stripe, dark navy heels and black gloves. The hat in particular seemed familiar to some people.

Although some on X (formerly Twitter) praised Melania's style as "stunning" and "classy," others pointed out the first lady resembled the McDonald's character Hamburglar.

One X user asked why "does Melania Trump look like the Hamburgler?"

Another person quipped, on X, "Melania Trump serving Madam First Lady Hamburglar at the #Inauguration2025."

Someone else agreed, declaring via X, "Melania Trump STUNS in Hamburgler inspired outfit," while a fourth person pointed out, "All melania needs is a mask and she would resemble the Hamburgular."

Meanwhile, other viewers thought Melania's Inauguration Day outfit might have been inspired by Michael Jackson.

"Why is she dressed like Michael Jackson?" one X user wondered, as another wrote, "Melania 's outfit. She looks Smooth Criminal era Michael Jackson at a funeral."

A different X user shared, "Melania Trump looking more Michael Jackson."

President-elect Trump will take his oath of office at noon on Monday at the U.S. Capitol Rotunda due to cold temperatures.
