Meghan Markle’s half-brother has made a desperate plea to the duchess, asking her to let her family see her newborn son.

Thomas Markle Jr, who hasn’t spoken to Meghan since 2011, told The Sun he hopes the baby can bring their ‘broken family’ back together.

"Hopefully this baby will help mend the family rift - we'd all love to meet the baby and become a part of his life - especially my dad," he said.

"I'm hoping that becoming a mother will open up her eyes and shed light on what family means.

"Maybe she will see the importance of family now - and open up to my dad and let him be part of the baby's life.

“Meghan, if you are watching now and you do see this program, I love you very much, I always have loved you, I’m very proud of you and I wish you an amazing life,” he said.

“I want us to be together as a family.

“Any new baby that comes into a family is a very big deal. I would love to meet the little prince or princess.”

Thomas also addressed the letter he sent to the Queen in 2018, claiming his half-sister is a “danger to the royal family”.

“I wrote that letter in a period of real frustration,” he said.

“She did reply and said I was only distant family and I felt very frustrated by it. I couldn’t believe it, as we were so close growing up as kids.”

He said his attitude has changed since sending that letter and now he just wants them all to be one big happy family.

In January 2017, Thomas was arrested following a drunken row with his girlfriend, in which he threatened her with a gun. He then vowed he was going to seek help for his alcoholism.

In January this year, Thomas was reportedly stopped by authorities in Oregon at 1:33am in the morning and arrested for drink driving after his blood alcohol content was .11 percent, according to ET.

The duchess’s father, Thomas Markle Sr, told TMZ: “My son has a serious problem and he needs help, and I hope he gets it.”

Mr Markle Jr’s sister, Samantha, also added: “His drinking is not related to Meghan. He always drank.”
