Drew Barrymore Makes a Bold Statement About Her Love Life
A certain type of man will never make it past the first date, let alone have 50 of them, with Drew Barrymore if she has anything to say about it.
The actress spoke candidly about her love life on the latest episode of her eponymous talk show with guest Martha Stewart, where they bonded over the types of men they do and don’t want in their lives romantically.

The conversation started with Barrymore asking the lifestyle mogul about her new Netflix documentary, particularly a part of the doc where Stewart spoke about relationships.
“I loved when you reflected on your marriage and your life, but then also talked about Charles and how you don’t want to think about what he has to say that second,” Barrymore said, referring to Stewart’s ex, tech billionaire Charles Simonyi.
Stewart then turned to the studio audience to explain that in the documentary she says “I don’t care so much about how you’re feeling, I care about what you’re doing. And it’s always been like that, I always care about ‘what are people doing with themselves?’”
That point then prompted Barrymore to ask Stewart if she’d ever been with “an idle man.”
“A man not doing anything?” she asked Barrymore, before emphatically saying no. “They don’t interest me,” she shared as the audience burst into laughter.
“I have,” Barrymore shared, saying, “I can’t recommend it.”
“I wouldn’t think of it!” said Stewart, to which Barrymore replied, “it took me being with an idle man to realize that my motto is ‘if you don’t work, we don’t work.’”
The talk show posted a clip of the conversation on Instagram, where fans quickly agreed with Barrymore’s dating policy.
“Great motto! I am going to steal that,” said one fan, while another wrote in to say “Amen to that! 😂😂.”
“I wouldn’t recommend it either! 👏,” said a third.
