Meghan spent hours watching Diana's wedding on repeat

They’re two of the most important women in his life, but while Meghan Markle sadly won’t ever get the chance to meet Prince Harry’s late mum Princess Diana, the actress has reportedly long held a love for the royal family.

It’s been revealed Suits star Meghan actually spent hours watching Princess Diana videos when she was at high school, with her best friend’s mum Sonia Ardakani telling all.

“I videoed Diana’s wedding back in 1981, and I would watch with [my daughter] Suzy and Meghan all those years later,” Sonia told The Express. “They would also see items about her on TV.”

Meghan and Suzy became besties after meeting at Immaculate Heart High School in LA, little knowing that years later, Meghan could be the woman to recreate that famous royal wedding scene by walking down the aisle with Diana’s son, Prince Harry.

There’s also speculation Meghan’s fascination with Diana might have helped play a part in winning Harry's heart.

With Meghan, 36, known for her humanitarian efforts - working as a United Nations ambassador and visiting remote communities in support of women around the world –it’s something that would no doubt appeal to Prince Harry.

Sonia has revealed that Princess Diana was actually Meghan’s inspiration for her humanitarian efforts.

“The girls didn’t just think [Diana] was glamorous,” adds Sonia. “They were impressed by her humanitarian work, and they started following her example.”
