Meghan Markle 'ripped to shreds' over leaked letter
It’s been a massive week of drama for the royal family, with Meghan Markle’s dad, Thomas Markle, refusing to be silenced.
A letter written by the Duchess of Sussex to her father was revealed by the Daily Mail, which detailed the former Suits actress’ anguish at the hurt her dad has caused her since she joined the royal family.
And now a royal commentator has said Meghan has been ‘ripped to shreds’ by the scandal.
“She’s not been permitted to say anything – aside from that Vanity Fair profile before the engagement,” l,” royal commentator Lisa Ryan said on the American podcast Royally Obsessed.
“She’s just had to take it.”
Lisa went on to support the former Suits actress’ five friends who spoke out against Thomas Markle in an interview with People magazine.
“My personal stance is that I think that her friends did what I would want to do for my friend. I would want to protect them,” Lisa said.
Meghan’s closest gal pals blasted Thomas Markle for how he has acted since Meghan became a member of the royal family, claiming he was the one who refused to answer her calls after her May 19th wedding.
Then Thomas hit back by releasing the five-page letter to The Mail on Sunday, in a move that many are saying has made their already fractured relationship irreparable.
In the letter, the Duchess of Sussex begged her dad to stop victimising her and spoke about the stream of interviews her father and her half-sister, Samantha Markle, have given since Meghan joined the royal family.
“On a daily basis you fixated and clicked on the lies they were writing about me, especially those manufactured by your other daughter, who I barely know,” Meghan wrote in a letter to her father.
“You watched me silently suffer at the hands of your vicious lies. I crumbled inside.”
Despite Meghan’s pleas for her dad to remain silent about their personal issues, Thomas has again spoken to the media about the fallout from the letter.
“I love my daughter very much,” he told reporters as he left a Rosarito shop, according to The Sun.
“I’m very sad.”
