The newly released Impact Report for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's Archewell Foundation highlights a busy year of charitable work

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are looking back at a year of impact through the Archewell Foundation, in a new video exclusively revealed by PEOPLE.

The one-minute video unveils never-before-seen footage of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's most significant public and private moments over the past year, including their trips to Nigeria and Colombia and intimate engagements with key charitable causes. It also coincides with the publication of the Archewell Foundation’s Impact Report for 2023-2024.

Set to the song "A Sky Full of Stars" by Coldplay, the video captures the couple behind the scenes and meeting people at the heart of some of the Archewell Foundation's core initiatives. It shows Meghan cooking with women for The Welcome Project, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex with a couple involved in The Parents Network (two endeavors that the Archewell Foundation described as its "principal programs" in the Impact Report), plus many more snippets of their trips abroad and outings at home.

In 2024, Meghan and Prince Harry visited Canada for the Invictus Games One Year to Go countdown, Nigeria and Colombia to further their Archewell work, and around the U.S. The video shows Meghan's panel appearance at the SXSW Conference in Austin, Texas on International Women's Day, Harry's heartfelt remarks at the Clinton Global Initiative in New York City to discuss the Parents Network's efforts to protect children from harmful online content and much more.

The video was released on the same day as the foundation's latest impact report, which reflects on the organization's third year of operation. In the report, the Archewell Foundation's co-executive directors James Holt and Shauna Nep reiterated its commitment to uplifting others.

"This year, at The Archewell Foundation, we’ve witnessed the transformative power of human connection — of people reaching across divides to uplift one another. Our purpose is simple yet impactful: to show up, do good," Holt and Nep said. "To drive positive change, rally for communities in need, and nurture spaces where everyone is seen, valued, and supported. In 2024, we were honored to work alongside communities, families, and individuals who, despite facing tremendous hardship, are redefining what’s possible.

The Impact Report also illuminates some of Prince Harry and Meghan's philanthropic endeavors that have mostly flown under the radar in 2024, from investments in The Markup, URL Media, Sustainable News Center and Civic News Company to help combat misinformation (which Harry has previously called a "humanitarian issue") to support for Ashley Biden's Women's Wellness (Spa)ce.

The report described Archewell as a founding partner and supporter of the hub, "a trauma-informed wellness center for women in north Philadelphia."

"Drawing from her experience with the criminal justice system, Biden’s initiative is inspired by her work with Mural Arts’ Women’s Reentry Program, providing support and opportunities for formerly incarcerated women," the report read. It said that the center aims to serve as a safe haven for women impacted by trauma, and provides nutritious food, exercise, mediation and therapeutic interventions. Biden is the daughter of President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden, and a social worker dedicated to underserved communities.

Four other focuses were themes of the Archewell Foundation's 16-page Impact Report — Community Wellbeing, Uplifting Women and Girls, Investing in Information Integrity and Collaborating for Impact — which recapped the couple's work in these arenas through the year, and cited highlights.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex unveiled the Parents Network this year (on Meghan's birthday) as a support for families dealing with the effects of online harm, and a resource to mobilize towards a safer online world. The Archewell Foundation created the Welcome Project in 2023 to help recently resettled women build community, and expanded to new locations this year to uplift more women.

"Both core programs have positively impacted the mental health of parents and women by fostering community building as a key to our collective wellbeing. These programs will continue to offer safe spaces where individuals can find healing and joy together," the report said.

The Archewell Foundation's motto is "Show Up, Do Good," and Prince Harry and Meghan established the organization in 2020 shortly after stepping back from their roles as working royals. The foundation is named after the Greek word meaning "source of action," which also was the basis for their 5-year-old son Prince Archie's name, and the couple welcomed daughter Princess Lilibet, 3, after moving to California.

Exclusively speaking to PEOPLE during the trip to Nigeria, Prince Harry hinted at future travel to further their Archewell mission.

"It is hugely important for us to meet directly with people, supporting our causes and listening, in order to bring about solutions, support and positive change," Prince Harry told PEOPLE.

"There’s only so much one can do from home and over Zoom, so we look forward to traveling more because the work matters. Whether it's the Archewell Foundation, Invictus or any of our other causes, there will always be reasons to meet the people at the heart of our work," he said.
