Meghan Markle Just Wore a New $30,000 Diamond Necklace
The blingy piece made its debut at a bookstore event.
Meghan Markle has been known to pull out some very sentimental jewelry for major moments, like wearing a diamond cross pendant that once belonged to her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana, and her Cartier Tank Française, which was also part of Diana's collection. According to Vanity Fair, over the weekend, when Markle and her husband, Prince Harry, made an appearance at Godmothers, a new bookstore near their home in Montecito, California, she wore a new necklace for the occasion. The piece in question is the Logan Hollowell Fortuna tennis necklace in 18k yellow gold. With an approximate price tag of $29,995, there's no doubt that it's going to be a new family heirloom.
According to the official Logan Hollowell website, the necklace is available in four sizes and includes lab-grown diamonds. Inspired by the Roman goddess Fortuna, the necklace has multiple cuts of diamonds (hearts, emerald-cut, and pear-shaped, just to name a few) and "reflects the goddess's ability to randomize and bring luck" in addition to "adding a touch of celestial brilliance to the wearer."
Meghan and Harry stopped by both nights of Godmothers's opening celebration, according to Town & Country. The outlet chronicled the store's debut, which included Harry and Meghan's appearances as well as a food truck, a cameo from Oprah Winfrey, and a chance for locals to meet the owners, literary agent Jennifer Rudolph Walsh and cosmetics entrepreneur Victoria Jackson.
Meghan offered some remarks during the weekend, sharing her love of bookstores and sharing a story about when she snuck into one in New York City when she was a working royal to escape the paparazzi and have a moment to herself.
“For me, sneaking to New York five years ago was a really big deal,” she said. “I was still so uncomfortable being out in the world. The safety of what I was craving, I knew I could find in a bookstore.”
Town & Country also shared that Harry helped name the shop. While he was celebrating the release of Spare in 2023, he thanked Winfrey, Jackson, and Walsh for supporting his memoir, calling the trio his “fairy godmothers.” Winfrey would go on to tell Jackson and Walsh, “There’s really only one thing you can name it: Godmothers.”
