Fergie not happy that Meghan and Harry upstaged Eugenie at the wedding

While the world rejoices at the news of another royal baby, it seemed the Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson was less happy with the timing of the announcement.

One the same day the palace announced that Prince Harry and Meghan are expecting their first child Fergie went on what some might consider a ‘petty’ Twitter spree to draw focus back to her daughter Princess Eugenie’s wedding on Friday.

“Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public,” Kensington Palace said in a statement on Monday.

However it’s been revealed the rest of the royal family were told the happy news at the royal wedding on Friday.

Most couples wait for the 12-week mark to start telling friends and family, and we can expect they shared the news with their loved ones before announcing things to the public.

The Duke and Duchess told the royal family during Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s wedding.

While it was Eugenie’s big day in the spotlight, that’s definitely a way to steal a little of the limelight.

Eugenie’s mum Sarah Ferguson appeared a little miffed about the timing of the announcement, taking to Twitter to share multiple photos from her daughter’s big day.

Over and over she tweeted how “proud” she was of Eugenie, at the exact same time as Kensington Palace tweeted the pregnancy announcement.

Many online were quick to point out the timing of her Twitter-spree.

Others however were quick to jump to the York family’s defence, saying it was Harry and Meghan who stole the moment from Eugenie.

The news came just hours after the pair arrived in Sydney, ahead of their 16-day tour of Australia.

Kensington Palace have said that Meghan is in “good health” and has had her 12-week scan.

The Queen, Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales, Duchess of Cornwall and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are said to be “delighted” for the couple.

When Meghan Markle and Prince Harry welcome their first child in around April next year, they might have a completely different surname to Prince William and Kate Middleton’s adorable tots.

The newlyweds may in fact call their children by the surname Sussex, instead of Cambridge, like Will and Kate’s kids.

It’s also widely expected that the baby will not be referred to as ‘His or Her Royal Highness (HRH)’ and unlike their cousins George, Charlotte and Louis, will not be called ‘prince’ or ‘princess’.

Given Prince Harry was gifted a Dukedom on his wedding day and he and Meghan are now known as Duke and Duchess of Sussex, their children will likely be given lord, earl or lady titles.
