Meet Robert Irwin's new 'Hollywood star girlfriend'

Robert Irwin has stepped out with rumoured new girlfriend, Emmy Perry at a gala dinner to honour his late father and Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin.

The pair, who are just 15 and 14 respectively, appeared close as they posed on the red carpet for the event held in Los Angeles.

Robert’s mother Terri and sister Bindi posed alongside the teen duo, who appeared to be enjoying each other’s company for the duration of the evening.

“Sparks were flying between them,” an onlooker told Woman’s Day.

Emmy, who is American and an actress, is, like Robert, a fellow animal lover and even launched her own animal rescue charity at the age of just 11.

She expressed her gratitude at attending the celebratory event on Instagram where she called the Irwins an ‘amazing family’.

“Had such a magical time last night honouring the legacy of a man who was truly an angel to the voiceless on this planet, Steve Irwin,” she wrote.

“(The Irwins) are moving mountains and we can all help them with their outstanding work, that is truly heart driven.”

Robert also shared photos of the evening but snaps including Emmy were notably absent.

But if the rumours are true, Robert wouldn’t be the first in his family to find love stateside.

In addition to mum Terry actually being American, Bindi’s longtime boyfriend Chandler Powell, who she calls the ‘love of (her) life’ hails from Florida.
