McDonald’s Fan-Favorite Frozen Oreo Treat Is Back for the Summer

McDonald's fans in the U.S. finally have something to celebrate: The grand return of a beloved frozen treat made with Oreos.

After what seemed like weeks of the fast-food chain teasing a variety of drool-worthy international menu items, stateside Mickey D's customers can now rejoice in an enviable addition of a returning seasonal item.

Drum roll, please...

Officially making a comeback at participating McDonald's locations nationwide is the one and only McCafé Oreo Frappé.

The sweet, caffeinated treat was initially introduced nearly 10 years ago as a "limited-time offer" for the 2015 summer season. In the almost decade since the beloved burger joint only brought it back once as a seasonal item on its 2023 spring and summer menus—that's until now, as it's already popped up at some locations, with a full return expected at participating locations by May.

Those that have yet to try it can expect to indulge in a "sweet treat made with rich chocolate flavor, a hint of coffee and OREO® Cookie Pieces" that's then "blended with ice then hand topped with whipped light cream and a few more OREO® Cookie Pieces for good measure," as described by the official menu listing.

Golden Arches loyalists seem pretty pleased by the addition, as many shared their delight in the comments of foodie influencer Snackgator's Instagram post announcing the news.

"Thank goodness because this is delish!!" one cheered.

"finallyyyyy," a second declared.

While a third simply exclaimed, "Yes !"

"This should be a Permanent Flavor!" someone else demanded in the comments of another influencer's post.

Despite many being ecstatic about the Oreo-laden beverage, a handful of social media users would rather see Mickey D's bring back its Chocolate Chip Frappé, which was also discontinued about eight years ago.
