Any scoop on Sonny and Davis’ relationship in the final season of SEAL Team? –Adriana
During the final season premiere (streaming Sunday, Aug. 11), the two definitely have a “moment” when Lisa meets and holds Sonny’s daughter Leanne for the very first time. Beyond that, let’s just say that things remain tricky for the twosome, partly because of Lisa’s career track and Sonny slugging that colonel last season. (P.S. The season opener is very good, and might make you very emotional knowing the end is nearing.)

Last season there were talks of #OneChicago EPs considering a crossover again, but it proved to be a challenge due to fewer episodes. Will they go for one this season? –Ingmar
Besides the strikes-shortened seasons, COVID protocols continue to be a factor, Chicago Fire‘s David Eigenberg explained to us at TCA, because “they wouldn’t intertwine” the three shows’ casts out of fear of cross-contamination. But “hopefully we do it” this season, he said, because “we like it.” Chicago Med‘s Jessy Schram added, “There’s always talk [of crossovers], but we need to be able to schedule it in — and we have really demanding schedules.”

I read on Twitter that The Rookie will actually introduce a third new rookie this season. Any details on that? –Sierra
I too saw the social media post that is making rounds, but I looked into it and that guy misspoke/mistyped — these are the only two new rookies this year.

What does Mekki Leeper’s new role on St. Denis Medical mean for Sex Lives of College Girls? –Deb “Unfortunately, I simply cannot speak to that, but you will know when [Season 3] comes out,” the actor told us at the TCA summer press tour, where he was promoting his new NBC comedy. Looking back on the heartbreaking turn of events between Eric and Bela, Leeper said, “I think it speaks in a really interesting way to just how competitive and how passionate people that want to do things in comedy or entertainment can get when they’re young. … I found it to be a plausible, compelling dynamic between the two of them.”

Any hints as to what character Danielle Savre is playing on Found? –Rayne
While still not disclosing details, showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll told us, “The character is a lot of fun. We’ve loved having her on the show, and she’s loved playing it. I think she pretty much interacts with almost everyone on the show, which has been such a beautiful, fun energy to bring in. And she’s such an incredible talent. I leave it to the audience to decide how they feel about her [character]. But for me, it’s been pure joy.”

Will we see Rochelle Aytes on S.W.A.T. again? Or will her character be written off somehow? –Crystal
I have been assured that Hondo and Nichelle are still happily married when Season 8 opens on Oct. 18, and that the plan is to see Aytes — who only left to join CBS’ Watson — within the first eight episodes or so.

When will When Calls the Heart Season 12 begin? –Kristin
Sometime in 2025, I am told.

When/if/ever will A Time for Mercy (HBO’s adaptation of the John Grisham novel) be produced/aired? –Mandi
I asked around about the Time to Kill sequel that was put into development in March 2021 and again stars that other MM, Matthew McConaughey, and it is still happening, but there are no updates beyond that.

Any scoop you can give us for Criminal Minds last episode of the season? –Andrea
I’m about halfway through the Aug. 1 finale, and I will just say that 1) I was surprised to see who did and didn’t survive this week’s climactic [spoiler], and 2) a pretty great bombshell is dropped in the aftermath. Kirsten Vangsness teased the finale at the start of the season, saying, “It will all make sense at the end, but it’s a lot.” Adam Rodriguez added, “It is a lot, and I think what [the team members] realize is that the ride is longer than we would like it to be — or anyone would expect it to be.” Joe Mantegna meanwhile shared that, like last season’s finale, “Once again we leave it in a place where people are going to say, ‘Oh yeah. Let’s now lets see where we’re going to go with this.’”

Are we going to see Criminal Minds‘ JJ interact with Voit again this season? –Kate
Do not miss the season finale, where JJ has a few things to say to Voit about BAUGate….

My question is about Criminal Minds: Will we get to see Nicholas D’Agosto reprise his role as Doug Bailey in a flashback this season? –Fernanda
You just might get that and then some. (See, this is why I hold onto all questions, people! Fernanda sent this a month ago.)

I never watched The Good Wife or The Good Fight, but I’m watching Elsbeth. What’s the deal with her constantly carrying multiple tote bags? Is there backstory I’m missing? –Karen
Elsbeth herself, Carrie Preston, explained at the TCA summer press tour that the idea was introduced years ago by Good Wife director/producer Brooke Kennedy, who “was like, ‘I think she needs to be always carrying a bunch of things, with all of her papers in there.’ So it became a really fun accessory, but it also became a real insight into how her brain works. She has a lot of ‘bags’ in her brain, if you know what I mean, a lot of compartments. She’s constantly going back and picking out little things that she saw 20 years ago and going, ‘I can use that here.’” On Elsbeth, Preston added the stealthy detail that “once I have got the killer and I’m ready to go in and frame them, I don’t have the bags. In those final scenes, when I come in to bring in everybody to arrest the murderer, I don’t need those [bags] anymore.”

Any news on when MeTV Toons might add more shows? –Donald
I asked around for you, Donald, and was told that the new channel’s line-up will get even more robust sometime this fall.

I recently discovered CBS’ Buddy Games and was wondering if there was any update on Season 2. –Elyse
Though the Josh Duhamel-hosted competition was not among CBS’ springtime pick-ups, as a reality show its renewal could very well happen during the “off season” — but there are no official updates, one way or the other, at this time.

I love Tracker‘s Velma and Teddi, but was disappointed at their diminishing screentime as Season 1 went along. Any word on what we can expect to see of them in Season 2? –Roni
On the Velma front, at least, showrunner Elwood Reid teased at TCA that in the Season 2 premiere (airing Sunday, Oct, 27), “You’re going to see that Velma is taking on a very interesting role with something that was hinted at with Reenie’s character in the final couple episodes” of Season 1.

Any updates on The Orville? Seth [McFarlane] said in a podcast a while back that “there will be more,” but it’s been crickets since. We’ve been in limbo for two years now. –Ash
TVLine has offered a first-in-class multitude of updates since Season 3 ended. And most recently, in mid-May, Disney Television Group Craig Erwich (whose purview includes Hulu) once again assured me… there is still no news to report.

Regarding Homicide: Life on the Street streaming on Peacock, will the Law & Order crossover eps be available to watch as well? How about the movie? –Raven
The February 2000 wrap-up movie also was remastered and will stream on Peacock starting Aug. 19, but none of the Law & Order crossover episodes likewise made the trip — though Seasons 13-23 of the procedural are currently available on Peacock.
