Ralph spills on 'frantic' experience
Speaking about his time in the competition, Ralph says he’s extremely proud of what he was able to achieve in the MasterChef kitchen and how he handled the pressure-filled environment.
“Time in that kitchen does not exist, and I think that's a big thing that you need to come to terms with very quickly,” he details. “You’ll look up and you’ve got five minutes left, it’s so intense.
“You don't realise how quickly everything actually moves. If you don't have your wits about you and something goes wrong, everything crumbles. So that's the main thing that I learned.”
He adds that he had no idea what to expect from the show when he applied, and he was surprised by how “frantic” the experience turned out to be.
“You've got cameras in your face, you've got a time limit, you need to balance flavours, you need to plate it up,” he describes. “So many things running through your head at any given time.”
Post-show, Ralph shares that he has plenty of exciting plans for his future in the culinary world.
“Going forward, I’m gonna take a bit of a break because I’m exhausted,” he laughs. “After that, I’m just gonna find ways to share my food with people, whether it’s doing pop-ups, cookbooks, full-length videos on YouTube.
“Anything that will allow me to share my love of food and my understanding and give you the chance to get interact with me as well, that’s what’s next on the horizon.”
