Masked Singer Finale: [Spoiler] Wins! See Who’s Under Every Season 12 Mask

The Golden Mask Trophy is now in the hands — or should we say hooves — of a new champion, following what Nick Cannon called The Masked Singer‘s “most legendary episode” yet.

Wednesday’s finale welcomed Wasp and the Buffalos back to the stage for one last showdown to determine who would emerge the victor of Season 12. And in case you didn’t already guess from that “hooves” reference earlier, it was not Wasp.

Nick Lachey (aka the Buffalos’ celebrity ambassador) got the festive finale started with a smooth take on “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” followed by Wasp with Bruno Mars’ “When I Was Your Man” and the Buffalos with Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Know.” Wasp then returned to the stage, switching things up with a sexy rendition of Whitney Houston’s “I’m Your Baby Tonight,” before welcoming back the Buffalos for a soulful take on Sam Smith’s “Too Good at Goodbyes.”

Now for the results: Nick Cannon gathered the finalists on stage to reveal that the winner of Season 12 is… the Buffalos, noting that they “made history as the first group ever to win The Masked Singer.”

But who’s been hiding under those costumes all season? As predicted by Rita Ora, Wasp is none other than Mario, while the Buffalos were revealed to be — wait for it — Boyz II Men.
