MAFS groom reveals shocking secrets about the show
Married At First Sight groom Drew Brauer has spilled some juicy secrets from behind the scenes of the Channel Nine reality show, with the 31-year-old artist admitting he was headhunted for the series.
Speaking on hit105 Brisbane, Drew opened up about everything from those photos of him and fellow bride Elizabeth Sobinoff allegedly on a date together, to the reason for all those awkward editing fails on the show.
When the hosts brought up Drew’s reported night out with Lizzie, Drew shot down the rumours straight away, saying: “All I'll say is don’t believe everything you see. It’s some pretty good Photoshop I have to admit but definitely nothing going on there.”
Interestingly, Drew admitted that Channel Nine producers contacted him by phone and asked him to appear on the show, saying he’s also been asked in the past to appear on The Bachelor and Survivor.
“I got a call, it’s weird I get calls or emails from a lot of the shows so they must just have me in this pool or whatever and they can stop calling me after this one,” he said.
When asked if he’d go on The Bachelor, Drew didn’t dismiss it, saying: “I don’t think so, I don’t even watch TV and coming in here I just had no idea what it was going to be like and it was the hardest thing I’ve ever done.”
“I know I signed up for it but it’s not really my thing,” he continued. “Obviously I wanted to meet somebody but it was like this crazy experience as well. And now I’ve kind of done that, I’m not going to be one of these reality TV w****s.”
The performing artist and charity founder said he knows that his ‘wife’ KC was also headhunted for the show and while he believes many of the other stars were as well, he failed to name anybody specifically.
“Look I know, I think they scouted KC and that’s just because she’s my wife and we talked about that kind of stuff,” he said.
Drew also dropped some secrets from behind the scenes of filming the commitment ceremony scenes, saying each couple is probably on the couch for about an hour each and there’s no air conditioning in there, making it extremely ‘uncomfortable’.
