MAFS' Ivan and Aleks on why they boycotted the commitment ceremony

Married At First Sight’s Aleks and Ivan have explained why they boycotted last night’s commitment ceremony.

Taking to Instagram, they both uploaded the same photo and caption, revealing that they are indeed still together and begged fans not to judge them.

“The pressures and expectations of the experiment got the better of us,” they wrote.

“ Aleks/Ivan and I stayed together the evening of our exit and I even saw her off at the airport to be with her family again

“ It was an emotional moment for the both of us. Let’s see if being outside does our relationship any more justice without the pressure and judgements of our peers. “

They went on to say they are ‘forever grateful’ about the ‘wonderful people’ they met in the experiment.

“We are all just humans on our own journey. Spread love, not hate and judgement,” they wrote.

Their statement comes after Aleks was accused of cheating on Ivan during the experiment, something she vehemently denies.

"I don't feel cheated, I don't feel dumped, I still care for the woman, and I recognise that she is missing something, and maybe I'm not that person and I will be OK with that,” Ivan said at the dinner party when Aleks said she didn’t have romantic feeling for her ‘husband’.

When Michael said he saw her coming back from a date with another man, Aleks said: "Sorry guys, if that was disrespectful to the experiment, but I just want you guys to know that wasn't a romantic date with a man."
