INYMI: Queen Bey turned 34 last Friday, meaning Jay Z was dealt the impossible task of finding her a birthday present. But do you know what? He nailed it – by getting her loved ones to band together to create a list of song dedications.
Beyonce’s very personal birthday present was delivered via her website.
The post featured messages from Bey’s parents, her sister Solange, her Destiny’s Child bandmates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, and a few others. However, the most emotive messages came via Jay Z and Blue Ivy.
Jay chose Coldplay’s Yellow to declare his eternal love for this wife, saying:
"This song reminds me of you and I on vacation. 'Look at the stars, look how they shine for you.' So many legendary nights. It represents vulnerability; it's us in our own world, away from work and totally lost in love. 'For you, I'll bleed myself dry.'"
Meanwhile, little Blue Ivy dedicated a Disney classic to her mum. She chose Part of your World from the Little Mermaid soundtrack, along with the message:
"Mommy you sung this to me all the time. Happy birthday, Mommy!"
