She may have several Academy Awards up her sleeve, but make no mistake: Dame Helen Mirren is no diva.
Much to the surprise of her fellow commuters, the acclaimed actress was spotted riding the subway in New York over the weekend.
And while she did her best to remain incognito, a handful of passengers recognised Mirren straight away, with Instagram user Jason Lowe subtly (we hope anyway) taking her picture.
Sporting a chic grey coat, purple gloves and a grey tote bag, Mirren looks perfectly composed in the photo - despite the fact her leg room has been compromised (what on earth is with the guy next to her?).
Apparently, this isn't the first time the actress has ridden the subway - a series of tweets dating as far back as 2010 prove Mirren has never adopted the limo-loving lifestyle other celebrities take for granted:
