Here’s Your First Look At The New Tina Fey Show Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

Tina Fey will be back on the small screen in March. Well, she’ll be back as a producer, and we all know how great she is in that role (think: 30 Rock and Mean Girls). The first trailer for her new show – Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt – has been released today, and we're already excited.

The show, which centres around a cartoon-like character called Kimmy Schmidt (Ellie Kemper, who you might remember from Bridesmaids), who moves to the big city for the first time. But Fey brings a whole new perspective to the overdone ‘new girl in NYC’ theme. Kimmy is actually a rescued victim of an Indiana cult. Having lived underground for over a decade, she resurfaces and heads straight to New York, where she gets a job nannying for an Upper East Side socialite. Sound ridiculous? Only Tina Fey could make this strange subject matter work.

The show is a Netflix original series, premiering on March 6 in the US, just in time for Netflix’s Australian launch sometime in March.
