Lena Dunham: 'Hackers Are Sex Offenders'

Girls creator Lena Dunham has condemned the recent spate of leaked celebrity nude photos, saying the hackers that released them are like sex offenders.

The 24-year old urged fans not to look at the pictures, with celebrities including Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Victoria Justice victim to the recent crime after hackers managed to access their iCloud accounts.

"The way in which you share your body must be a CHOICE," Dunham tweeted overnight. "Support these women and do not look at these pictures... Remember, when you look at these pictures you are violating these women again and again. It's not okay..."

Lawrence and Mary Elizabeth Winstead have since confirmed the authenticity of their snaps while condemning the breach of privacy. Like Lawrence, model Kate Upton's attorney is threatening legal action, saying, "This is obviously an outrageous violation of our client Kate Upton's privacy. We intend to pursue anyone disseminating or duplicating these illegally obtained images to the fullest extent possible."

Dunham said fans should remember the hacking is a crime and the people responsible for the leak were sex offenders.

"Seriously, do not forget that the person who stole these pictures and leaked them is not a hacker: they're a sex offender," she wrote on Twitter.
