Gisele Bundchen: The World's Most Powerful Model

It’s official: Brazilian-born Gisele Bundchen is the world’s most powerful model.

The 32-year old, who came in at number 95 on Forbes’ top 100 ‘Most Powerful Women’ list, was the only model to secure a spot, proving her massive influence in the fashion industry.

Bundchen also made the list in 2012, with Forbes undoubtedly taking into account the supermodel’s philanthropic influence as the ambassador of the UN’s environmental program as well as her high-profile model career.

The mum-of-one also topped Forbes’ Top Earning Models list in 2011, and was named alongside husband Tom Brady as one half of the world’s Highest-Paid Celebrity Couples, with the duo reportedly raking in $45 million over the year.

"This makes her on track to become the world's first billionaire model," said Forbes at the time.

Bundchen is also famous for reportedly “outperforming" the Dow Jones index in 2011. Business website Stockerblog claimed the model should have her own "Gisele index" seeing as she was "up" in wealth 41% from January 2007 in comparison to the Dow, which was down 4% during the same period.

"Since January 2008, Gisele was up 39% versus a drop of 4% for the Dow," added Stockerblog. "And since January 2009, Gisele rose 67%.”

Other noteable faces on the 2013 World’s Most Powerful Women list included Angelina Jolie, Lady Gaga and Beyonce, who jumped from last year's number 32 spot to number 17, making her second only to Oprah Winfrey as the world's most powerful entertainer and entrepreneur.
