Heidi Klum Strips Off For Charity

A number of celebrities including Heidi Klum have gone bare-faced in a bid to help raise money for disadvantaged children in the United Kingdom.

The 39-year old supermodel went makeup-free for BBC Children In Need's first-ever "BearFaced Day" in an effort to help promote the annual campaign.

Klum is pictured with her hair pulled back into a sleek bun; a small bear paw-print the only trace of colour on her face.

“I am so proud to be taking part in this year’s BBC Children in Need BearFaced campaign," Klum commented. "Having worked in the fashion industry for a number of years, I am a firm believer of encouraging women’s empowerment. And what better way to do so than [by] supporting such a fantastic charity."

It seems the low-key look is one Klum is happily adopting in her real life, with sources close to the supermodel saying she’s much less concerned with her looks since splitting from husband Seal.

“She dresses casual -jeans, T-shirts, no bra, zero makeup," the insider says. "She seems so much more comfortable and happy in her own skin now.”

In addition to the celebrity support of the BearFaced campaign, a host of designers have reportedly given the charity’s mascot, a bear named Pudsey, a high fashion makeover.

“All of the designer bears will be auctioned off, with all proceeds going to Children in Need,” said the Telegraph UK.

Ironically, the BearFaced Day campaign images were released on Klum’s favourite holiday, Halloween.

“It’s unusual to see Klum so unadorned around Halloween. Normally at this time, she's decked out in some over-the-top getup for her annual costume party,” said Us Magazine.

But while Klum’s annual Halloween party was cancelled this year due to Hurricane Sandy, the supermodel had reportedly planned on going as Egyptian Queen Cleopatra.

According to Zimbio, Klum told designers to create something "big, gold, [and] glittery."

“Judging by the finished product, they did just that, constructing a floor-length gold dress with a sparkly winged shawl and showy headpiece,” said the press outlet.
