How Many Slices Are In a Costco Pizza?
We went to Costco to find out.
There are a lot of things to love about the Costco food court, but its iconic pizza might be chief among them. It’s the perfect option for feeding a crowd on a budget. But just how many slices are in a Costco pizza? I went to Costco to find out.
How Many Slices Are In a Costco Pizza?
My Costco pepperoni pizza had exactly 12 perfectly even slices. As it turns out, this is no accident: Every Costco food court pizza has exactly 12 slices.
The retailer’s pizza-making process is incredibly fine-tuned: Workers are equipped with a round metal gadget that measures six identical slices. Once they’ve used the gadget as a guide for their pizza roller, they cut each slice in half. The pizza is then boxed up and sent on its way.
How Big Is a Costco Pizza?
Each Costco pizza measures 18 inches, which is quite large. It’s so large, in fact, the box wouldn’t fit into my refrigerator. I purchased the pizza midday and didn’t plan to eat it until dinner, so I had to divide the pie into foil-wrapped portions and refrigerate until dinnertime. If you plan to serve the pizzas at a party, you should probably take your refrigerator space into consideration.
How Much Does a Costco Pizza Cost?
Each 18-inch pizza costs just $9.95, which averages out to just above 80 cents per slice. The pizza is available in two options: cheese and pepperoni.
How Many People Does a Costco Pizza Feed?
It depends on how hungry the people are. If each person only plans to eat one slice, you can serve a whopping 12 people for under $10 (of course, even though the slices are certainly not small, that’s probably not realistic). One 18-inch pizza should be enough for 3-5 people, but I recommend buying at least two pizzas if you’re unsure.
Can You Buy Costco Pizza By the Slice?
Yes! You can buy one slice of pizza for $1.99. Why the upcharge? The individually sold slices are actually twice as big as the pre-cut slices in the whole pizzas.
Can You Buy Costco Pizza Without a Membership?
Sadly, no. While the Costco food court was once accessible to anyone who wanted a hot dog or a slice of pizza, it’s only available to card-carrying members these days.
Is Costco Pizza Worth It?
100 percent. I shared the pizza with two other people, everyone was stuffed by the end of dinner, and we still had leftovers. But that’s not the best part! The pizza was shockingly delicious: The cheese was rich and gooey, the sauce was flavorful, and the crust was structured (but not too thick and not too greasy). We paired it with a Caesar salad and couldn’t have been happier.
