Manu Feildel has made a career out of being a food lover, but what happens when a little too much love leaves you feeling all out of sorts?

You enlist the help of your beautiful wife, drop 12kg and become peak couple goals in the process - duh.

The celebrity chef and Australia’s Got Talent judge has wowed fans with a slimmed down look over the past few months, and a recent before and after snap he posted online fanned the flames.

The chef confirmed he dropped over 12kg in just four months to New Idea, and said it was only by approaching the challenge with his wife Clarissa Weerasena by his side, that the pair were able to motivate each other to stay healthy and consistent.

“I did it with my wife so we could do it together,” he said.

“Every morning we drop the kids to school and go to the gym together and we have both lost about 12 kgs each... So she has a new husband and I have a new wife.”

The pair wed in January last year after becoming engaged in 2013.

Meanwhile Manu hasn’t been shy about posting about the weight loss.

The My Kitchen Rules judge first posted about the dramatic slim down in April.

He opened up about the gruelling journey at the time, telling Sunrise the extreme food restriction was the hardest part.

“I started with an eight-week challenge and I pushed it to a 12-week challenge…” he said.

“The diet is the hardest part – there’s no booze, no carbs and I’m training five-to-six times a week.”

He said while cutting the booze didn’t pose a problem, changing his food was ‘terrible’.

With his latest gig judging Australia’s Got Talent – which premiered on Sunday – it looks like he’s managed to maintain the new look with no issues, looking as svelte as he did in his initial posts.

With the talent show ahead, the chef might have some help with a break from tasting food for a living, turning his attention to the performing arts instead.
