Ex-Pussycat Doll and brand-new Australia’s Got Talent judge Nicole Scherzinger, has gotten off to a bit of a rocky start with her co-star, My Kitchen Rules’ Manu Feildel.
The American pop star told New Idea on Monday that she had no idea who the Aussie-based French chef was before joining the panel, which also includes actor Shane Jacobson and stage and screen star Lucy Durack.
Who are you?
In fact, Nicole revealed that she’d never even met Manu - or Shane or Lucy - until the day before filming began.
“They sat me next to Manu and I was like, ‘I don’t even know this guy!’” she laughed.
Despite being complete strangers, it sounds like the two are getting along well.
“We went straight in, we totally connected, and he’s got such a great sense of humour,” she said.
Nicole, for her part, has also made an impression, with Manu calling her a “rock star” with “presence.”
This isn’t the first judging job for Nicole, who has shared her wisdom on The X Factor in the US and UK, as well as the US-version of The Masked Singer, which is coming down under soon.
But perhaps the real reason Nicole didn’t recognise Manu, is that he’s dropped quite a bit of weight recently.
The My Kitchen Rules judge shed 10kg earlier this year, and has been sure to keep up his gym routine since.
Just last week he took to Instagram to say, “46 and I can’t believe how much I love exercising.”
Australia’s Got Talent starts Sunday July 28 on Channel 7.
