Man Who Went Viral for Behavior at Bachelor Party Gets Married, Father-in-Law Replays Video at Wedding (Exclusive)

Sam and Luke celebrated their wedding day surrounded by loved ones, many of whom were abuzz about their viral moment this spring

A couple who went viral in the lead-up to their nuptials has officially tied the knot.

Sam and Luke were first introduced to the internet when a moment from the groom's bachelor party turned into a viral rant about how much he loves his bride.

In March, a stranger coincidentally named Sam, who goes by @sb.reads on TikTok, shared a video applauding a man named Luke, whom she and her friends met during a night out at a bar in Charleston, South Carolina.

"If your name is Sam and your fiancé's name is Luke, and he is currently in Charleston, South Carolina, for his bachelor party and he was at a bar on King Street called Uptown Social tonight on Friday, March 22nd, I just want you to know that that man loves you so much," she began her now-viral video, congratulating the bride.

Sam and Luke tell PEOPLE the moment drove the positivity as they made it through their final weeks of wedding planning.

"We hope that our viral moment inspires more outward expressions of love and it was great to know that we are going to spend the rest of our lives together with a partner we love so much," the couple tells PEOPLE.

The couple tied the knot in Martha's Vineyard on Saturday, June 1, surrounded by their family and friends. Many of their guests had heard about the couple's viral moment, but just in case they hadn't, it came up several times during their big day.

"My dad and Luke's best man both included the viral moment in their speeches," Sam says.

"My dad actually rented a TV to show the TikTok during his speech! We talked about it with many of our friends and guests we had not seen since the viral TikTok came out."

In the weeks leading up to their wedding, the couple switched from basking in the internet's glory back into the trenches of wedding planning.

"We spent a lot of time on the phone with my sister, who is also our wedding planner!" Sam tells PEOPLE of the lead-up to the big day, which was brought together by Sandy Brooks from Timeless Event Planning and shot by photographer Anya Kernes.

"While we had a lot of things to do on the planning side, we just got to enjoy the feeling of truly being loved by one another and daydreaming of what the day would look and feel like."

Both Sam and Luke found their wedding day to be "perfect."

"We smiled so hard the whole day our faces hurt and just looking at one another and knowing we are officially married was surreal," she says."The next day, all we could say to each other was how much fun we had and how perfect it was!"

Some of their favorite moments were reading personal letters they wrote each other, their first look, joining their band on stage and their first dance.

Sam enjoyed not one, but two walks down the aisle. "Once with my mom and dad and once with just my dad and that was really nice getting to do it twice since I knew I was going to be overwhelmed with joy," she explains.

"The second was right when we were about to do our vows, I needed water immediately because the pollen was really getting to me. I ended up stopping the ceremony while my sister/wedding planner ran to get me water," Sam continues.

"Everyone was kind of wondering what was going on and started laughing when my sister appeared on stage to hand me a tea cup of water. Also, it was surreal actually becoming husband and wife."

The groom also counts the moment among his favorites. "Sam looked beautiful walking down the aisle and I was very in love at that moment," Luke says.

Other highlights for him include, "Having two speeches by Sam's uncle, who is a funny and charismatic speaker, describing our relationship, and my dad, who officiated the wedding, discussing the philosophical side of marriage was so special."

Sam adds, "It was a nice culmination of our love for one another and having our closest friends and family in attendance and even live streaming for people who couldn't make it was just a really special moment."

"It was so much fun hanging out with our 40-person 'non' wedding party," she says. "Our first dance was to 'Everything, Everywhere,' by Noah Kahn; we're actually going to his concert together in Boston, so we can hear it live!"

The pair admits it's "funny" to see people online rooting for their happiness, and they couldn't appreciate it more.

"We're just two people who found our soulmates," the couple concludes.
