They’re the picture-perfect couple who fell in love and became engaged for real on this year’s Married At First Sight.

But Jules Robinson and Cam Merchant have now been forced to postpone their highly-anticipated wedding after a jam-packed year.

Pushing things back

“We were originally planning on getting married on our first anniversary [of their MAFS wedding] but it was too much too soon and we just thought ‘that’s not going to happen’,” she tells Yahoo Lifestyle.

“It was a romantic gesture and we booked a venue on that and ended up losing our $5,000 deposit but I just thought—yeah that’s not going to happen anymore.”

The bride-to-be, who is now planning on tying the knot later this year, went on to explain another motivation for the pushback was her new partnership with Weight Watchers - now WW - which Jules hopes will help her lose 10kg.

“I’d like to hit my goal and then a little bit more,” she says, before revealing 3kgs have already been shifted.

Healthy living

“It’s a lifestyle choice and one I want to continue for the rest of my life and one I want to maintain because I’ve yo-yoed my whole life.

”I’ve put on 10kg since I got married to Cam and I’ve only just started saying it out loud and it’s getting much more comfortable.”

But while looking her best is among Jules’ main goals for her and Cam’s big day, she’s also keen to enjoy each moment in the lead up.

“Our wedding is going to be later this year and I’m actually really enjoying organising it because on MAFS we just had to show up,” she says.

“I just wanted to enjoy the process by organising it all.

“Obviously for our wedding it’s not going to be as big [as their high-profile engagement party] but it’s going to be a good night, that’s for sure.”
