Why MAFS' Sam Ball skipped out on show's explosive reunion
After one of the most controversial series of Married at First Sight to date, the show’s final reunion episode was a chance for many of the participants to face the music after some of their actions.
And while most of the original couples were present to air their grievances and share their triumphs (here’s to you Cam and Jules!) there was one noticeable absence from the group.
It seems Sam decided not to attend the reunion after receiving a talking to from Ines at the final dinner party, according to News.com.au. He was also reportedly sent a private message on Instagram saying, “It’s going to be your funeral tomorrow”.
Thus, he did a runner.
“He told producers that he refused to take part in the show anymore after the dinner party,” a source told the publication.
“They kept trying to make him reconsider, but he just said ‘no’ and told them that he wasn’t going to be associated with people who were belittling him. He told them he was utterly embarrassed to be a part of the show.”
Given how much Sam Ball was involved in the drama at the beginning of the series, fans have slammed the 26-year-old for not even making an appearance.
Having left not only his TV wife Lizzie in the lurch, but also skipped out on Ines after their brief ‘affair’, fans were left fuming he was not there to be held accountable for his actions.
Twitter lit up with comments about Sam’s no-show.
Sam not bothering to turn up for the finale. Just like he didn’t bother to turn up to his arranged marriage or his affair. 😒 #MAFS

It really kills me that throughout the whole entire season except the last 20 minutes everyone was in love with Sam, and gave Elizabeth so much shit. What the hell is wrong with everyone? #MAFS

Sam chose the exact moment the finale aired to share a clip from his new Youtube channel.
He’s called the channel ‘Sam The Rogue’ explaining “it will be a channel full of laughs and a reflection of my true self”.
The teaser video was called, ‘Sam The Rogue in Tyrannosaurus Wrecks Teaser’.

The video sees Sam running around a car park in a dinosaur costume, but it wasn’t enough to stop fans from commenting about MAFS instead.
“Lol who’s here just to dislike? Sam the Snake needs to understand what he did is not acceptable,” one person wrote.
“Gold medal at the cringe Olympics,” wrote another.
“Don’t lose your daytime job,” was another response.
