MAFS' Jackson spills on current relationship with Olivia: 'That’s life'

They were one of the strongest couples to come out of Married At First Sight when their season ended earlier this year, but Jackson Lonie and Olivia Frazer shocked fans in August when they called it quits after ten months together.

Now, Jackson has opened up about the breakup while chatting with Yahoo Lifestyle and revealed where they currently stand with each other.

“I want the best for Liv and hopefully she finds a nice guy because she deserves that,” he shares. “But yeah, unfortunately, we just kind of grew apart a little bit, which happens in life.

“We’re still very close and we're still good mates and we still talk probably once a week, so there are definitely no hard feelings there at all.”

The 31-year-old went on to say that while people expect there to be “an elaborate story” behind their split, there simply isn’t one.

“It’s been as smooth as a breakup can be, I guess,” he continues. “We were just both on different paths and yeah, that’s how it goes, unfortunately. That’s life.”

Jackson and Olivia’s Melbourne reunion

This weekend the pair will have their first public reunion since breaking up when Olivia flies to Melbourne to support Jackson at his celebrity boxing match.

The event, which will be available for fans to stream online on October 15, will see Jackson go up against fellow MAFS star Sam Carraro in the ring.

Jackson will also be donating his portion of the event’s ticket sales to Coast Shelter, a community housing operator providing accommodation for people who are homeless or experiencing domestic and family violence on the Central Coast.

“Liv is 100% supporting me,” he says. “She's coming down with the whole crew and they’re all there to support me, so I'm very excited to have them there and cheer me on.

“We've got Matt [Ridley] coming down, Cody [Bromley]’s coming down, Mitch [Eynaud] is still in Fiji but he's going to be there in spirit, Tamara [Djordjevic], Carolina [Santos], Anthony [Cincotta]… Al [Perkins] is coming down as well.

“I'm just very excited about it, and I can't thank Coast Shelter enough for even giving me the opportunity to give them a hand. To see the good work that they’ve been doing, it’s amazing and I'm just very grateful that I'm able to give back to them.”
