MAFS' Davina Rankin reveals secret behind 13kg transformation

She stunned fans earlier this month when she shared before and after photos of her impressive 13kg transformation online, and now Davina Rankin has revealed the secret behind her dramatic weight loss.

The reality TV star, who rose to fame on Married At First Sight in 2018 and also appeared on the latest season of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, took to Instagram on Wednesday to answer a number of questions from followers about her new look.

After one person asked her how she managed to change her body over the course of a year, Davina explained that she took “a more holistic approach”.

“A more plant-based diet, meditation and breathwork to manage stress,” she wrote, adding that she enjoyed doing pilates and “softer movements like walking”.

“I also took control of my gut health and made big sacrifices for my health like removing my implants.”

Davina announced late last year that she had gotten her 12-year-old breast implants removed after experiencing Breast Implant Illness (BII) symptoms for years.

Although BII is not currently recognised as an official medical diagnosis, common symptoms can include joint and muscle pain, sleeping and breathing problems, anxiety and depression.

The mother-of-one shared photos of her transformation on social media earlier this month saying that she feels “more alive” than she has in over a decade.

“These photos were taken exactly 1 year and 1 month apart, 13kgs difference,” she wrote.

"I removed my toxic implants which means no more inflammation, bloating and gut issues. Depression/anxiety and fatigue are basically non-existent, energy levels are up also.”

Davina ended her post by telling her 359,000 followers about the importance of taking care of yourself and prioritising your health every day.

“I can safely say it took me a good 28 years of life to understand just how important it is to look after your mind body and soul. So my words of advice is it’s never too late to start, even if you are at rock bottom,” she said.
