MAFS bride Melissa 'nearly homeless' after appearing on show
As much as the instant fame and potential to find love are great perks of going on a reality show, putting your normal life on hold can be problematic for some.
It seems that’s the case for Married At First Sight star Melissa Lucarelli, who quit her day job to become a part of the controversial social experiment.
“I have to look for work because I’m actually nearly homeless,” the 38-year-old told the Herald Sun.
“I’m so broke, I’m almost on the streets, which sucks.”
Melissa left her job at a talent agency to go on MAFS in a bid to find love.
Unfortunately her romance with yoga instructor Dino Hira didn’t last.
On Sunday night the couple decided to bid the social experiment goodbye, after a secret recording was the final straw in confirming their relationship wasn’t working.
Melissa was disappointed that husband Dino had recorded her speaking to her sister without her knowledge.
“I wanted to show Mel that the words were hurtful and it wasn’t easy for me to take,” Dino said during the commitment ceremony.
“You’re acting like I slept with your best friend and killed your dog,” Mel hit back.
“I was telling my sister what had happened in our relationship.”
Married At First Sight continues at 7:30pm on Channel Nine.
