MAFS bride Awhina's sister Cleo breaks her silence after Carina's brutal insult
'Feedback week' on MAFS has brought with it a lot of drama...
Another day, another MAFS drama. This time, the couples were forced to do a couple swap for 'Feedback Week', where they learn how others see their relationships and how they can improve going forward.
It was revealed in the episode that Awhina Rutene is paired with Paul Antoine, who was previously in a relationship with her twin sister, Cleo. Carina Mirabile, was upset about the swap, saying she would have preferred Paul be partnered with anyone else, given his history with Cleo.
During their time together, Awhina and Paul were tasked with an honesty letter in which they spoke about their relationship and how they were feeling in it. Paul shocked Awhina by telling her some comments that Carina made about Cleo, in which she insinuated she was of 'low calibre'.
MAFS' Paul reveals Carina's comments about Cleo
During the letter activity, Paul told Awhina, "I feel like she is a bit of a snob sometimes, and can come across as very judgey and I'll be honest with you, this is giving me the ick.
"Now, when I told Carina the reason why I knew you, she made a comment about Cleo that sort of gave me the ick. She said, 'Oh I didn't know you would go for that kind of calibre'."
Awhina looked dumbfounded, simply responding, "Wow."
In a piece to camera, a fired up Awhina said, "Saying someone's in a different calibre to you, you're essentially saying you're better than them. I'd love to know what makes you better than my twin sister."
She asked Paul if he thought she said that because Cleo is "covered in tattoos", and he said he thought that was the case.

"And that's something that really gives me the ick," he told Awhina. "Because that's not who I am. Like, I'm not going to judge someone because they've got tattoos or because of where they're from and stuff like that."
Awhina responded, "My twin sister owns her own house and she doesn't work for a family business," seemingly taking a swipe at Carina who works with and lives with her family.
"That comment, I would never, ever say these things to people," Awhina said, adding, "Where are you in your life, Carina, to look down on my twin sister."
In another piece to camera, Awhina said that because Carina still lives at home and works with her family, she could call her "an entitled, sheltered princess."
"My twin sister is beautiful, she's an amazing aunty, she's loving and I don't like fake people, I don't like people who think they're better than other people," she added. "I actually would have loved for Carina to have said that comment to me."
Paul said that he and his 'wife' "might not be as compatible as we think we are" due to her comments.
He added that he was scared to bring this up with her because he was nervous about her reaction, but Awhina told him to talk to her about it, because "you've gotta have raw honesty in a relationship, you can't just sugarcoat things".
"I'm really pissed off, Carina and I had a good relationship," Awhina told the cameras. "We were texting, we were supposed to go on a double date. So to know she's made 'calibre' comments about my twin sister, which extends to me, that is so wrong. Trust me, I'm not going to let her get away with it."
Cleo hits back at Carina's 'really sh**ty comments'
Taking to Instagram, Cleo has hit back at Carina's comments, saying, "So my inbox has been flooded from people wanting to know how I feel about the comment that was made by Carina. I would have preferred none of my past relationships be aired, however, my sister went on a reality TV show, so this is bound to happen."
She continued, "I found it really, really sh**ty, just because when I had seen leaked photos of Paul and Carina, I was saying how beautiful she looked, and how happy I am for them. I have spoken to Paul's closest friend, because I'm on good terms with his friends and vice versa, and I had expressed how happy I was for them.
"They had said they were getting along great and I was all in support. For her to then turn around and say I'm of low calibre based solely on my physical attributes was really sh**ty. We're all out here trying to do better. Don't judge anyone. That was what I call Mean Girls 2.0, so don't point fingers at Jamie," she added, referencing the major fight that went down last week that had Carina saying the way Jamie acted was like "Mean Girls 2.0." towards Lauren Hall.
MAFS fans support Cleo
Many MAFS fans have shared their support for Cleo, with one user writing, "It was totally unacceptable what Carina said about you. I can see Awhina and you are both lovely ladies and deserve so much better. Big hugs Cleo."
"Nasty comments are just a reflection upon the person making them, not you. We all know and can see how beautiful you are," another added.
