MAFS' Al Perkins reveals he made $25k from bizarre career venture
‘That’s probably the best thing that came out of MAFS for me.’
Since his appearance on Married At First Sight in 2022, Al Perkins has explored several different career ventures that one might expect of a reality TV star.
The shoey-loving groom, 26, has released a line of merchandise with his co-star Brent Vitiello, co-hosted a podcast with Love Island’s Taku Chimwaza, and taken part in a celebrity boxing match against Josh Packham.
However, Al has now revealed that his favourite opportunity to come from the reality show was the club appearances.
The former tradie told fellow MAFS star Ollie Skelton on his podcast TOSSER this week that he made around $25,000 from showing up at nightclubs across the country and partying with fans.

“That’s probably the best thing that came out of MAFS for me,” he shared. “You get free drinks, and I love free things.
“I didn’t work for 12 months. I would just travel every week, get on a plane, I didn’t know where I was going. I was going to like, the Outback, like Wagga Wagga or Rockhampton or something.”

Al went on to admit that he’s “envious” of the upcoming MAFS cast members who will get to do “all the fun things” he used to do.
“I feel like Yoda right now, I’m passing down the baton,” he remarked. “I’m just like, I had my fun, you guys go and unleash.”
Al was an immediate fan favourite on season nine of MAFS, where he was paired with Samantha Moitzi, and became well known for doing shoeys at dinner parties and public events. He also appeared on the fourth season of Love Island Australia and struck up a brief romance with Jessica Losurdo.
Al's advice for future MAFS participants
Al’s comments come shortly after he told Yahoo Lifestyle that his biggest advice for future MAFS participants would be to “do as many club appearances as possible”.
“They’re the funnest part of doing the show,” he laughed.
“I never really took it too seriously, the whole thing. I always just had fun with it, enjoyed myself, and I think that’s what they should do. Maybe they should just drink more wine and they’ll have a bit more fun.”
