Lunchbox Snacks | Testing the Best Ep. 7

There’s nothing quite like the nostalgia of primary school and, (more importantly) the childhood snacks associated with it. Excitedly waiting for recess to roll around to see what Mum had packed you is an unmatched 00s memory that (sadly) just really isn’t replicated in everyday adult life.

Eager to replicate this feeling, we’re kicking it old school in this week’s Testing The Best! We’re dusting off the lunch box and packing it FULL of the treats we did and didn’t (sorry Mum!) get to eat in the school yard.

Here’s what we ate:

Burger Man:

Burger MAN I hear you say? Yup, that’s right. Although our brain remembers them clearly as Burger MEN (which makes more sense TBH?). These tasty tomato snacks are light and still as delightful as ever! They’re also back for a limited time only, so you know we had to get in on the action.

Burger Man!! We're so glad you're back.

Roll-ups:

Something that was a big no-no for our lunch boxes was the mighty roll-up. Sticky, messy and always deliciously sweet, we remember them being a little bigger, but still just as tasty.

These still hit all these years later when it comes to childhood snacks.

Yoplait mixed berry yoghurt:

Possibly one of the only snacks that effortlessly followed us into adulthood, the humble yoghurt still keeps its charm all these years later. We’re obsessed with the mixed berry vibes and cute little tubs that make for the perfect snack time serve.

A true classic both now and then.

Ovalteenies:

These were seriously underrated back in the day! They’re delicious, value-packed and easily fit in your pocket for an on-the-go snack. They also *kinda* get away with being semi-healthy, so an easy win with the parents.

Did anyone ever actually drinks these?

Le snak:

We’re just going to say it, the biscuits are the real star here. Three is just not enough in our opinion and they should seriously consider selling them by the box.

We're alllll about the biscuits.

LCMs:

Another no-go for our lunch box growing up, we were very keen to see if these lived up to our memory! The flavour variety is now even better than when we were kids, so we’d still happily reach for these in our snack draw today.

Does anyone know what LCMs stand for?
