“Love Is Blind” season 7's Leo reveals why his engagement to Brittany didn't work out
"We had so much to talk about, it was kind of cloud nine, and then things settled," Leo tells "Entertainment Weekly" of his and Brittany's post-engagement trip.

The cameras stopped rolling for one of Love Is Blind season 7's most prominent couples, but the drama didn't end there.
Leo Braudy and Brittany Wisniewski got engaged in episode 5 of the new season (now streaming on Netflix) after his love triangle with Hannah Jiles ended, but the popular reality dating series didn't continue to follow their journey. Instead, a message was shown onscreen after their reveal that said "Brittany & Leo were not one of the six couples chosen by producers to continue their journey in Mexico. They took their own trip to Miami and broke off their engagement weeks later."

While the Netflix show didn't reveal any details about their breakup, Leo opened up to Entertainment Weekly about why things didn't work out with Brittany. "I think it was pretty mutual," he told EW. "After the reveal, the producers asked if we wanted to be put in touch, which we of course did. And we decided, 'Let's have our own version of a post-reveal engagement trip,' so we spent a few days in L.A. and a few days in Miami, and while we had an amazing time, I think we both realized that we just weren't really going to end up getting married."
Leo said the "first few days" of their time together outside of filming went well, but things ended pretty quickly. "We were just on a high, because you're excited to see each other, you're also excited to be back out in the real world," he explained. "We had so much to talk about, it was kind of cloud nine, and then things settled."
There wasn't a big fight that caused their breakup — it actually ended in a quieter way. "I remember we were having lunch at one point and she was wearing my ring, and we just said, 'I know we're engaged, but do we really see ourselves taking this all the way to a marriage?'" Leo said. "And after a lot of thought, we decided that we just didn't see it happening, and we're really good as friends."

The experience was much more intense for Leo and Brittany during the pods portion of filming. Leo was in a love triangle with Brittany and Hannah, but proposed to Brittany after Hannah chose Nick Dorka, resulting in a dramatic fight in their second to last date. While Leo and Brittany got engaged soon after, Brittany wasn't able to say that she loved Leo yet, and her final words on the show were, "Oh god, what have I done?" after their reveal was spent cuddling together on a couch.
Leo thought their first time together outside of the pods was "comfortable" despite how it may appear onscreen (he had not seen the episodes yet at the time of the interview). "We had such a deep connection in the pods that it felt like a continuation of what we had, to a large degree," he said. "I hear that our reveal, I guess, was pretty awkward, and it definitely was a little bit, but we were so comfortable around each other. Honestly, the vacation that we took was super easy. It felt so natural."
Leo and Brittany's reveal ended up with them laying horizontally on a couch— which was a first for the show, since in previous seasons, no other couple took things to that degree physically (usually, couples kiss, hug, or sit together on a bench). "I wasn't aware that that was unique," Leo said. "I guess we did things our way. I didn't know that [it hadn't happened before]."

Leo was "surprised" when he learned that he and Brittany weren't chosen to be one of the season's six couples that continued filming. "Since I knew that I was in this love triangle, I had felt like maybe they would want me and Brittany to come [to Mexico], because I guess I had a particularly drama-filled pods experience," he said. "I was crushed. I mean, who wouldn't want to go to Cabo with all of your guy friends and seeing the other people, the other women? Yeah, I was super bummed. But nonetheless, we still had a great time afterwards."
Leo said that he plans to watch the first episodes of season 7 "the minute they come out" and he's curious to see how his pod dates with Brittany and Hannah are portrayed onscreen. "My whole love triangle in general with Brittany and Hannah was super intense," he said. "It was like being pulled in two different directions at the same time. It was one of the hardest decisions [and] things I've ever gone through."
