Lisa Rinna Models New Blond ‘Wigxie’ at Luar Fashion Show After L.A. Wildfires Destroyed the Original
Lisa Rinna debuted a new reproduction of her favorite wig at Luar’s fall 2025 presentation in New York on Monday. The former “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star has nicknamed the blond crop the “wigxie II.”
Created by Rinna’s hairstylist Gregg Lennon Jr., she initially modeled the “wigxie” on the cover of Cosmopolitan last year, abandoning her signature “mixie” cut — a cross between a mullet and pixie. She also wore the wig at Balenciaga’s Los Angeles fashion show in December 2023.

“It was a big hit,” Rinna told WWD in statement on Monday. “I think people freaked and I love this wig so much.”
The original “wigxie” was lost in the Eaton Fire last month, along with most of Lennon Jr.’s belongings. The second most destructive wildfire in California’s history destroyed 9,000 buildings in the Altadena area.
“I’ve been keeping [the ‘wigxie’] at my house and the Saturday before the fires, Gregg was doing my hair and he begged me to take it so he could wash it and style it,” Rinna continued. “Now that he’s remade her, we thought it would be fun to bring her back and celebrate her for NYFW.”
Lennon Jr. had to make the original “wigxie” for Rinna before they met on the set of her Cosmo shoot. The hairstylist chose a violet blond shade for the ends to complement Rinna’s skin tone.
“I didn’t know her wig size or hairline or anything, so the first time it was a lot of guesswork,” Lennon Jr. wrote. “Thankfully, I guessed right because the rest is history.”
At Luar’s fashion show, Rinna paired her “wigxie II” with a look from the label’s spring 2025 collection: a blazer-inspired bodysuit with shoulder pads, which she layered over black tights. A floor-length faux fur coat and oversize aviators completed her ensemble.
Lennon Jr. gave the new “wigxie” a few tweaks, though he kept its shadow root — a feature, he said, adds an element of “realness.”
“I added a lace front to give an extra level of illusion,” he added. “Lisa is the most fun person to make wigs for because she is always so game to play and experiment. The wigxie could never be replaced, but the wigxie II will keep her spirit alive.”
Although Lennon Jr. lost his home (and over two decades of wigs), his friend, singer Rebecca Black, organized a GoFundMe to help he and his husband Nick, a makeup artist, rebuild. To date, they’ve raised over $63,000.
“I’m fortunate to have so many people and brands step up and jump in to help us get back on our feet,” Lennon Jr. explained. “I’ve had friends put kits together for myself and others impacted by the fires. My clients and friends in Los Angeles have become family over the years and I am forever grateful for their support.”
