Lisa Kudrow Opens Up About ‘Friends’ Cast’s Single Reunion After The Show Ended

It seems no one told Lisa Kudrow, the actor who played Phoebe Buffay on the sitcom “Friends,” that “life was gonna be this way” when it came to getting people together for dinner.

Kudrow recently appeared on the podcast “Dinner’s On Me,” hosted by Jesse Tyler Ferguson, to discuss her new Netflix series “No Good Deed,” and got candid about her time on the hit ’90s show.

While at dinner, Ferguson asked Kudrow what the show’s 25th reunion experience was like. She revealed that she and the five other main cast members had only had dinner “once before” the reunion since the show ended in 2004.

Kudrow described the reunion as “fantastic and great.”

“How soon after the show?” Ferguson asked about the timing of their dinner.

Kudrow responded, “It was 10 years. It was like we didn’t miss a beat. Just us at someone’s house and had dinner and, like, didn’t miss a beat.”

The actor was also asked if she watches reruns of the hit show. She replied that she’d watch “if it was on.” She added, “If, God forbid, anybody walked into my house and saw me watching my show, I’d be mortified.”

Kudrow later revealed that she changed her stance after the passing of co-star Matthew Perry. Watching reruns, she said, started to feel like “remembering,” “grieving” and “celebrating” the experience of the show.

“Boy, I appreciated everybody on it,” she added.

After Perry’s death, Kudrow wrote in an Instagram post: “Thank you for making me laugh so hard at something you said, that my muscles ached, and tears poured down my face EVERY DAY. Thank you for your open heart in a six way relationship that required compromise.”

On the podcast, the “Romy and Michelle” star continued to reminisce on her time on the show and how special it was to be reunited with her cast members and “to have all of us together on the set. ’Cause you never know when it will be impossible for all of you.”
