Lily Collins Reveals Her Favorite Outfit from “Emily in Paris” Season 4, Part 2: 'It Just Felt Cinematic' (Exclusive)
'Emily in Paris' season 4, part 2 premiered on Netflix on Sept. 12
Lily Collins' Emily Cooper was simply doing as the Romans do in the latest episodes of Emily in Paris.
The star of the Netflix rom-com series told PEOPLE exclusively on Tuesday, Sept. 10, about her favorite outfit from the show's second part of season 4. The ensembles for season 4, part 2 have a noticeable departure from Emily's previous style, which could be because Emily is actually in Rome this time around.
"I think there's an outfit in the two episodes at the end, which was a vintage Alaïa skirt and a white collared shirt with flats and a little scarf," Collins, 35, tells PEOPLE.
"It felt, to me, like a real departure for Emily, and more Italian, more holiday vacation vibes, and more practical running around with flats," she adds. "It just felt cinematic."

The actress also tells PEOPLE about the inspiration for the outfits this time around. When the trailer dropped, fans noticed how her ensembles were similar to Audrey Hepburn's in Roman Holiday.
"[Part] 2 includes the Charade look at the top of the mountain, as well as Roman Holiday, obviously," she says, referencing two Hepburn movies. In one scene, Collins wears large sunglasses, a fur coat and a hat to match, just like Hepburn in the 1963 rom-com mystery.

She also wore the timeless skirt and scarf outfit à la Roman Holiday. "And [costume designer Marylin Fitoussi] always tries to draw inspiration, but give it an Emily twist. And so I think, for us, that was exactly what we did," she continues.
"We took images that were so iconic," she adds. "So it's important to always have that touch."
Collins also told PEOPLE about The Lizzie McGuire Movie reference in one of the new episodes. Though she couldn't take credit for it, it turned out to be a nice personal touch for her, when her character mentions seeing "so much" of Rome in movies.
“I sadly can't take credit for that line but I found it to be one of the more genius lines of the season,” she explained. “I definitely grew up loving that movie, Hilary Duff, Lizzie McGuire, so I was very proud that Emily Cooper would make that reference.”
