‘Lilo & Stitch’ New Trailer: Disney’s Cuddly Alien Takes Over the Super Bowl Field in Cute Spot
Another teaser trailer for the live-action remake of “Lilo & Stitch” has been released, with the feral, blue extraterrestrial taking over the football field during the Super Bowl. The brief spot aired early in the game and made it seem initially like there was something wrong with the broadcast, or an unauthorized person accidentally went onto the field.
The remake sees Maia Kealoha star as Lilo Pelekai, while Sydney Agudong plays her older sister, Nani. Stitch is voiced once again by Chris Sanders, returning from the original film. Zach Galifianakis is Stitch’s creator, Dr. Jumba Jookiba, while Billy Magnussen plays Agent Pleakley, who’s sent to accompany the wily doctor. Tia Carrere, the original voice of Nani, will also be in the remake as Mrs. Kekoa, along with Courtney B. Vance as a social worker. The cast also includes Amy Hill and Jason Scott Lee, both returning after being featured as voices in the animated film.

“There’s going to be Easter eggs [for] the people who saw it originally, and also the new kids that are coming up,” Carrere told PEOPLE about the live-action remake.
The original “Lilo & Stitch” remains one of the most beloved Disney animated films following the studio’s ’90s renaissance run. Released in 2002, the film earned $273 million globally and spawned various spinoffs, including several direct-to-video sequels and a Disney Channel original animated series.
“Lilo & Stitch” will make contact in theaters on May 23. Watch the trailer below.
