Rob McElhenney has gone all out for his latest birthday tribute to friend and Wrexham AFC partner Ryan Reynolds.

The pair have made headlines over the past few years after buying the Welsh football club, and have been documenting the journey in Disney+ series Welcome to Wrexham.

To mark Reynolds's 47th birthday on Monday (October 23), McElhenney enlisted the help of fellow Hollywood pal Chris Pratt to make a big announcement for the town of Wrexham.

In a clip shared on YouTube, the It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia star is seen sitting at a desk with Pratt, as the Marvel star asks him why he's been brought there.

"You know how Ryan and I are always doing these elaborate things for each others' birthdays," he begins, as an enthusiastic Pratt admits he hasn't seen their antics. McElhenney also uses the opportunity to get a social media follow from Pratt.

McElhenney then reveals: "This year, my idea involves… a park."

"Oh!" Pratt enthuses, before realising why he in particular has been used for the stunt. "Ah, because I was on Parks [and Recreation]".

The clip then cuts to a promotional video made in the style of the Parks and Rec credits, unveiling the Ryan Rodney Reynolds Memorial Park in Wrexham.

The advert promises green spaces, pop up restaurants, movie screenings, "actual Green Lanterns", "benches for old guys to swing on" and "a statue that may or may not look like Ryan".

And yep, it's an actual thing, if you head to ParksAndWrex.com (we see what they did there).

The clip ends with Pratt asking if he and Reynolds could go into a partnership to go big for his own birthday, before referencing It's Always Sunny and corpsing as he asks: "Is Danny DeVito here?"

Reynolds himself has responded to the generous gift, writing on X (formerly Twitter): "I’ll use this park to weep in whenever @Wrexham_AFC suffers a loss.

"And probably draws too. And thank you @prattprattpratt for shining your benevolence upon @RMcElhenney. April will be fast upon us. #ParksAndWrex".

He added on Instagram: "Parks and Wrex!!! @RobMcElhenney, I don’t know how you stuffed @PrattPrattPratt into your windowless panel-van and forced him into our little birthday charade but I’m grateful to you for eternity.

"You’ve completely and totally outdone yourself. April is right around the corner."
