Robert Irwin responds to Bachelor rumours following recent break-up
Robert Irwin and Julia Morris prove they are an iconic duo in this hilariously chaotic interview.
With his good looks, charming personality and strong passion for wildlife conservation, it’s not hard to understand why Robert Irwin is often described as one of Australia’s most beloved celebrities.
The 20-year-old TV personality has also been labelled on social media as “Australia’s most eligible bachelor” in recent years, especially since announcing his split from his girlfriend Rorie Buckey last month.
During an interview with Yahoo Lifestyle before he flies off to South Africa to film I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, Robert jokingly responded to rumours he will star in the next season of The Bachelor now that he’s newly single and part of the Channel 10 family.
“Would I consider doing The Bachelor?!” he burst out laughing as his co-host Julia Morris jumped in.
“If you be the Bachelor, I’m going to go on as a Bachelorette, like some weird old creepy nightmare,” she joked, before realising what that would look like if she went on a reality show intending to date Robert.
“We can't go on a date,” she backtracked. “I’ve got myself into the worst comedy cul de sac here. This is what it’s called in the business, it’s called a comedy cul de sac. You drive in, you’re like, ‘This joke’s gonna be hilarious’ and then you drive around and around and you’re like, ‘I can’t find my way out of this street’. It’s not ideal.”

Julia, who has previously competed on Celebrity Apprentice, The Masked Singer and Taskmaster Australia, went on to say that the one show she’d love to appear on is “the news”.
“That is spicy,” Robert replied. “I’d be the one that goes ‘This just in! Robert Irwin is doing stuff!’. I’m a ‘just in’ guy.
“There you go, that answers it perfectly.”

While he might not be appearing on The Bachelor anytime soon, fans can see Robert Irwin take on his biggest TV role yet when he co-hosts I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! later this month.
Robert shares that it was “the most humbling thing” when he was approached to join the show, and describes the gig as “an incredible new chapter” in his life.
“I never thought this would happen. It just feels like an incredibly surreal full circle moment and a very big honour,” he says.
“It’s unexpected, but then at the same time when you really think about it, it's perfect. Like, it kind of makes sense, it’s sort of a natural fit. In a way it’s so new for me, but also what I've been doing since I was hatched out of the egg.”
