Arachnophobes everywhere rejoice, a new saviour has been born and she only costs 50 cents.

The Game of Thrones battle may have got everyone talking this week, but there’s a bigger, real battle faced by households Australia-wide every day, which now has a new hero.

Enter Kmart’s ‘egg hunt grabber’. Formerly confusing in its precise function, the specialised grabber, as it turns out is perfect for the banishment of lurking spiders from your living room.

We’ve all tried the old glass and book trick, in which you trap a critter under a cup, slide a hard surface underneath, pray nothing wriggles out of the gap, and throw the whole thing out the window so you don’t risk getting spider on you.

Terrifying stuff, but preferable to spider guts in your carpet.

Well those days are gone, in a recent video posted to a Facebook group an ingenious hack has gone viral for all the right reasons.

Using the aforementioned grabber, simply snap the spider from a convenient distance, transport outside, and release.

So simple, but so effective the discovery could well appear among the greatest of our time.

The video has attracted hundreds of likes and comments from people who really can’t believe one of life’s greatest problems could be so swiftly and effectively solved.

Tragically the ‘egg-hunt-grabber’ is out of stock, and we may have to wait for next easter to get our hand on one.

In the mean time we’re hoping a thriving second-hand trade springs up around the coveted item, because we need one now.

The video marks just another example of Kmarts products being lauded online.

Earlier this year a bride saved thousands of dollars using Kmart’s flower range, and their quirky pieces are often the subject of online praise.
