MAFS fan fined $337 for watching reality show while driving

With more drama than ever before, watching Married At First Sight has become highly addictive for many fans.

But there’s a time and place to be getting your MAFS fix, and that’s not while you’re on the road.

One viewer of the show has been fined $337 for watching the Channel Nine show while driving along a busy motorway in Sydney.

“Highway Patrol officers were left shaking their heads this week after observing a person watching Married At First Sight on their phone while driving along the M1 near Sydney,” reads a statement issued by NSW Police on Friday.

“The driver was issued with a $337 fine and 3 demerit points (driving with TV/VDU image visible).”

In NSW, drivers who use a mobile phone illegally face demerit points penalties, while Learner, P1 and P2 licence holders are not permitted to use a phone at all while behind the wheel.
