Kmart fans upgrade kitchen with $10 buy: 'Best makeover yet'
DIY enthusiasts are obsessed with this affordable transformation.
There have been a number of stand-out room transformations featuring items from Kmart's DIY range by clever shoppers of late, but this epic transformation is next level.
Injecting new life into their dated kitchen, a couple behind the Instagram page @themissouriproject made the room look super luxe using Kmart's $10 Decor and Furniture Paint Chips.
"This bench was a major change for the space," they said before explaining their lengthy but cost-effective method to upgrading their kitchen counters from bright green to a terrazzo look.
Using the Dulux renovation range, they first added two coats of primer, allowing it to dry for eight hours between coats. They then added four coats of white paint to cover up the green, before sprinkling on the paint chips and topping it off with three coats of gloss.

Throughout the process of revamping their home, the couple has reminded their followers that they're "rookies learning as we go". Despite their inexperience, however, followers can't get enough of their affordable DIY tricks.
While they said they still had a few other jobs to do in the kitchen, they were proud of their success so far.
"We're almost at the finish line. Just a few more little things to do for the kitchen and it'll be complete! One of those jobs will be spray painting the range hood white to match in with the cabinetry. Not loving that deep brown colour at all," they added to the post.
"This turned out brilliant! We have been tossing up whether to paint our kitchen. It's so good to see the power and potential of paint! It really transforms a space so nicely. I love it," one impressed fan wrote.
"This is the best makeover yet I've seen with a bench top (and those Kmart chips). Well done, you must be so pleased!" another follower commented.
"Get the heck outta here. This looks amazing! I need to do this. Thank goodness I stumbled across your account," added a third.
