Lazoschmidl Offered Up Happy-Go-Lucky Office Wear for Fall 2025

Design duo Josef Lazo and Andreas Schmidl of Lazoschmidl dreamed up a company called Lazoschmidl Inc. It had a happy-go-lucky outlook but was struggling financially.

As the backdrop for their presentation, which featured models sitting around an improvised boardroom table, a screen showed financials, demonstrating sales in steady decline over time. They were the brand’s own numbers from the past couple of years.

“The business numbers are the real numbers, we wanted to be really blunt about it. We’re not crying about it, we’re just saying this is the reality, let’s face it,” said Schmidl.

The collection, titled “Mistakes,” had them putting their colorful, body-baring spin on office wear. Striped and checked shirts were worn with ties but paired with pajama pants or boxer shorts, a nod to a work-from-home culture where pants are optional. Imagery from previous collections became a print on mesh t-shirts, while fabric scraps were used to create multicolored patchwork jeans.

There was a multi-hued pastel fleece hoodie and smiley flowers on a bright pink shirt and matching boxers summing up the fun-loving vibe.

Clashing stripes evoked the geeks in the IT department, while a cartoon rabbit logo represented their fictional chief financial officer. “You kind of understand where the money is going,” Lazo said. “But he is wearing a tie,” chipped in Schmidl.

While the past couple of years have been tough, Lazo and Schmidl are determined to keep going, and enjoying the journey. “If we can’t earn money like we want to, we want to at least make sure we have fun, I think fashion should be fun,” said Lazo. “We had four seasons when nothing happened,” Schmidl explained. Retailers “are just starting to look at brands again now.”
