Lala Kent Teases Transition Into 'Off-Limits' Reality TV Genre Post-'Vanderpump Rules' (Exclusive)
Lala Kent is feeling grateful. The reality TV star caught up with Parade just a week after Bravo dropped the bombshell news that they had decided to reboot Vanderpump Rules completely. The decision essentially sacked the show's longtime cast including Kent, Tom Sandoval, Ariana Madix, Scheana Shay, and more. From sharing her perspective on the network's decision to where she sees herself in the world of reality TV in the future, Kent went deep with us as Pump Rules comes to an end.
"I am feeling extremely grateful for that chapter in my life," Kent shared with Parade exclusively. "Vanderpump Rules catapulted me into doing what I love to do. It has brought so much opportunity, and I don't think it was any secret after that finale episode that it just felt very final."

In case you forgot, this year's finale episode of Vanderpump Rules was certainly a doozy. The fourth wall completely fell during the dramatic installment of the reality series, as Kent, Scheana and her other co-stars shared their grievances with the state of their show due to the immovable rift between exes Ariana Madix and Tom Sandoval after the infamous "Scandoval" cheating scandal.
"I think I started the mourning process right after I purged, and so it didn't come as a shock to me when I got the call, it just was kind of like the cherry on top of a fantastic chapter in my life," she explained. "I feel very at peace."
Bravo's decision also gives her some much-needed time off from filming, where she can enjoy the holidays and partner with brands like Ninja Thirsti, whose new ZERO SODA Flavor Drops are a smart alternative to traditional soda without sacrificing flavor.
Post-Vanderpump, Kent confessed that she is having "the graduation effect" when looking back on her time on the series, saying that for right now, she is "only remembering the good times and blocking out the really hard moments that are hard to share on camera." She explained, "I will hold that chapter near and dear to my heart."
Of course, the stars of Vanderpump Rules are in a much different position than they were when they all started as servers at Lisa Vanderpump's SUR all of those years ago. With successful businesses, podcasts and more, it leaves plenty of opportunity for new ventures for this cast, Kent included.
"Everything that I want has shifted," she explained when discussing her journey. "It's right now about getting the brand where it needs to be, having it ring true to who I am right now." Kent has her Give Them Lala brand, which includes a successful podcast, as well as her memoir of the same name.

"What has stuck is, I want an empire, and I won't stop until I have that," Kent added, teasing her aspirations to grow her brand even further.
"I am proud of my cast," she continued. "It doesn't last forever and you can't have all of your eggs in one basket. I feel like the Vanderpump Rules cast really did a good job of setting themselves up and I don't think this is the last you will see of these people."
Of course, it helps that The Valley, the successful Vanderpump Rules spinoff, seems to be a perfect runway for former Pump Rules stars, and it already stars Jax Taylor and Kristen Doute. While we already know Kent will appear in a guest capacity on The Valley, she also opened up about what the next step in her reality TV career might look like.
"I've never shown myself as a mom," she said, pointing to an aspect of her life she'd now like to share. "I think that would be the hardest, because I hold motherhood so sacred. I love that it's been off-limits, where it's just for me, and my kid and my household, I think that that would be a huge transition for me. Showing how I do things as a mom." Whether sharing her motherhood journey will take place on The Valley or elsewhere remains to be seen.
She also is excited to see what her peers do, even those who she is not as close to as she used to be like Tom Schwartz and Sandoval. "I just want them to be able to move on from this whole thing and start something great and thrive," she said. "I think everyone who was a part of the cast deserves that."
