Yahoo Lifestyle Lainey Wilson Opens Up About Her Dream Engagement Ring
Lainey Wilson is dreaming of engagement rings, y’all!
In a sit-down with Kelly Sutton and Amber Anderson on the Country Heat Weekly podcast, the “Whirlwind” singer revealed her dream engagement ring.
“I don’t care what shape it is, but I want to be walking with a limp,” she joked, adding that she wants to have to pick her arm up to handle the weight of it all.
“If you can’t see it from a mile away, it’s not big enough,” Kelly chimed in.
“Duck is listening to this going ‘Oh gosh, oh gosh, oh gosh’—better go get you a loan, baby,” Lainey laughed.
For those that don’t know, Lainey has been dating Devlin "Duck" Hodges, a former NFL player-turned-real estate agent, since 2021. The pair went public with their relationship in May 2023 on the ACM Awards red carpet. Since then, Lainey has been vocal about how much Duck means to her.
"I was never really able to write love songs, because I don't know if I had actually felt it, but I'm writing me some love songs now," she told PEOPLE. "I’m grateful for him.”
That doesn’t mean she tells all, though. In a cover story with Billboard, Lainey emphasized the importance of privacy to her.
“When it comes to mine and Duck’s relationship, there’s going to be some things that we can’t escape and people are going to say and do whatever, but me and him are on the same page about the less we put out there, the less that we’re going to have to deal with people making anything up and saying anything,” she revealed. “We want to keep that as sacred as we possibly can between me and him, and so far, it has worked for us.”
Still, we hope she’s eager to share news of her engagement if and when that day should come. Here’s hoping she gets the ring of her dreams!
