Lady Gaga brings Parisian chic to Venice in a sophisticated all-black look
Lady Gaga has landed in Venice and is already giving us a taste of her press tour wardrobe for Joker: Folie à Deux.
Nearly a month before the sequel film will be released in cinemas, Gaga arrived at the 81st Venice International Film Festival alongside co-star Joaquin Phoenix and director Todd Phillips. The trio was seen at the Palazzo del Casinò in the Italian city, where the musical superstar embodied Parisian glamour in a sophisticated all-black Dior Couture look.
She wore an elegant A-line, midi-length dress made out of black velvet, which featured a square neckline, gently puffed long sleeves, and a skirt that flared out from the waist.
Gaga expertly styled her look with classic black accessories, including Celine sunglasses, leather platform pumps from Christian Louboutin, and a netted beret. For a sparkly touch, she added flower-shaped diamond stud earrings by Tiffany & Co.
In the second instalment of the Joker franchise, Gaga portrays iconic antihero Harley Quinn, the costumed persona of therapist Harleen “Lee” Quinzel, who falls in love with Gotham City’s Clown Prince of Crime.
Gaga opened up about preparing for the role in a recent interview with Empire. “I’m a trained singer, right? So even my breathing was different when I sang as Lee,” she told the outlet. “When I breathe to sing onstage, I have this very controlled way to make sure that I’m on pitch and it’s sustained at the right rhythm and amount of time, but Lee would never know how to do any of that. So it’s like removing the technicality of the whole thing, removing my perceived art-form from it all and completely being inside of who she is.”
