Why Kylie Jenner cancelled daughter Stormi's first birthday party

Just over a year ago Kylie Jenner came out of hiding after a nine-month hiatus, announcing she had given birth to a baby girl after choosing to keep her pregnancy a secret.

Now Kylie can’t get enough of showing off her adorable baby girl, Stormi, any chance she gets, and we were expecting nothing less to mark her first birthday.

However, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star had to cancel Stormi’s birthday party because of the rain.

The 21-year-old was meant to have a huge birthday bash for her little girl but had to make it a much more relaxed affair, with just her relatives and closest friends, after poor weather forecasts.

“Alright so, we were supposed to have Stormi’s birthday party this weekend,” she said in a series clips on her Instagram story. “It’s not happening because it was supposed to rain and it’s not raining anymore.

“It didn’t end up raining, but better safe than sorry.

“We have all her cousins here and everybody who loves her. We’re playing with farm animals.”

In true Kardashian-Jenner style there were many Instagram posts made to wish Stormi a happy birthday.

Kim Kardahsian West posted a sweet photo of her daughter Chicago and Stormi together, Kendall Jenner also wished her “sweet noodle” Stormi a happy birthday as did grandmother and momager Kris Jenner.

Kylie – who welcomed Stormi with boyfriend Travis Scott last year – has previously admitted that becoming a mother helped her to “love herself more” than ever.

“I feel like having a daughter, and thinking about beauty in the future, has definitely changed me, and I feel like it has made me love myself more and accept everything about me,” she explained. “Even my ears, I always felt like they stuck out too far, and she [Stormi] has the same ears as me and so now I love my ears …

“It’s just having a different outlook on life so I can pass that on to her. I want to be an example for her.”
