Kylie Jenner gives birth to baby girl

After months of speculation, Kylie Jenner has confirmed she was in fact pregnant - by announcing she's now officially a become mum.

The 20-year-old gave birth to a baby girl at 4.43pm on February 1st, with boyfriend Travis Scott, mum Kris Jenner and pregnant sister Khloe Kardashian by her side.

She took to Instagram on Sunday to share a heartfelt message to her precious bundle of joy and explain why she kept her fans in the dark about her pregnancy.

Acknowledging her secrecy, Kylie said, "I understand you're used to me bringing you along on all my journeys. My pregnancy was one I chose not to do in front of the world."

She added that she 'needed to prepare' herself for the role of being a mother, and so decided to take a step back from the spotlight.

"I knew for myself I needed to prepare for this role of a lifetime in the most positive, stress free, and healthy way I knew how," she wrote.

"There was no gotcha moment, no big paid reveal I had planned. I knew my baby would feel every stress and every emotion so I chose to do it this way for my little life and our happiness."

Kylie also reflected on her pregnancy journey, saying it had been the 'most beautiful, empowering and life-changing experience' of her life, and she thanked her family and friends for their support.

"I appreciate my friends and especially my family for helping me make this special moment as private as we could," the post said.

"My beautiful and healthy baby girl arrived February 1st and I just couldn't wait to share this blessing. I've never felt love and happiness like this I could burst! Thank you for understanding."

Kylie hasn't revealed the name of the baby girl yet, but she did post a lengthy video of her journey throughout the last nine months on YouTube.

It includes the first look at her sister Kim Kardashian's baby girl Chicago, who was born last month. Watch a snippet above.

In the video, Kylie's friends talk about the moment she found out she was pregnant, saying they were in the bathroom together when the reality took the test and turned to them and smiled.

She also revealed that one of her biggest cravings were In'N'Out cheeseburgers, and that they tasted so much better when pregnant.

Some of the Kardashian-Jenner clan have reacted to Kylie's announcement with joy on social media.

"God is SO good!!" momager Kris wrote on Twitter, "I am so excited and thrilled to welcome another precious baby girl to our beautiful, ever growing family. We are blessed beyond belief!"

Khloe, Kim and Kendall also tweeted in support of their little sis.

Rumours first began circling in September she was pregnant after TMZ first reported that she was expecting a baby with rapper boyfriend, Travis Scott.

Rather than confirming the news, the make-up guru went into hiding, avoiding public engagements, swerving KUWTKs filming and posting cryptic social media messages.

Despite the distinct lack of comment from the normally-active Kylie, fans were certain that the youngest of the Kardashian-Jenner clan was having a baby.

Over the festive season, the famous family hinted the news was about to drop in their annual Christmas card that they refused to unveil until the actual day.

For the whole of December they teased with snippets of the finished card, only to finally reveal Kylie wasn't even in it and infuriating fans.

“This was the biggest let down ever,” one fan wrote on Instagram, while another echoed the sentiment over on Twitter. “Biggest disappointment of 2017.”

“KIMBERLY. What the hell?!" a commenter added. "No baby announcement?”

But while Kylie was extremely tight-lipped about her bun-in-the oven, her older sister's Kim, 37, and Khloe, 33, have both been vocal about their baby news.

Kim became a mum for the third time with hubby Kanye West on the 15th January when their little girl was born via a surrogate.

And Khloe revealed she was expecting her first baby with boyfriend Tristan Thompson just before the holidays in a touching post that showed her blooming bump.

“We’re having a baby,” she wrote in an emotional Instagram post. "I had been waiting and wondering but God had a plan all along."

The closest we came to a evidence Kylie was too expecting, was with a slip of the tongue by her dad, Caitlyn Jenner.

"All I can tell you is that it was some time ago," a representitive for Caitlyn told The Sun when asked about her daughter's pregnancy.

Most recently, Kris appeared to let the cat out the bag in an episode of their hit reality show, where Kylie called her to say she'd caught one of her employees trying to take a photo of her inside her house.

"I really feel bad for Kylie because there's always somebody that's trying to exploit a certain situation," Kris told the cameras, adding she considered having the employee "arrested."

The arrival of Kylie's bundle of joy officially marks three Kardashian-Jenner births in 2018 — what a time to be alive.
