Kmart shoppers go nuts over $8 version of popular $60 item: 'Must-have'

Kmart shoppers have gone crazy over a popular item for kids (or us big kids!) after the retailer posted a video on its Instagram account. And, as a bonus, it's a whopping $52 cheaper than other versions on the market.

"Keeping the little ones entertained indoors this winter holidays? Set up a paint station with our new waterproof, easy to clean Silicone Paint Mats, only $8 each 🎨," they wrote. The video showed a mum of two enthusiastically showing off the new mats.

Other Kmart shoppers were quick to share their thoughts on the paint mats, with one user saying, "Ohhhh this is a must-have for my 5yr old!! I’ll definitely have to get out to a Kmart on the weekend 🙌😍 and then end up with a shopping bag full of everything else as per usual 😂."

"These are such a game changer!! Painting cleanup is a breeze now," another said.

"I am heading to Kmart to buy this product 😍," a third said.

"These are so handy!" someone else said.

"Even cheaper than the cheap ones I got off Temu 😂 Exactly the same," another revealed. Temu's version sells for $15, but they're currently on sale for $11.24.

"We need 'em for ourselves lol," one woman said, tagging a friend.

"I really want to get one of these. I looked at the more expensive brand and they were $60," another woman added, perhaps referencing the Silicone Craft Mat from Fruugo, which is on sale for $59, but usually retails for $84.

Others weren't so sure, particularly about the collapsible water cup, with one user writing, "I can see it now... kids are rough and that water cup will collapse and water will go everywhere..."

"Lol, how the heck are you going to empty the dirty water out of the cup without spilling it everywhere?" another questioned.

Kmart says of the product, "Your little one can have hours of fun painting sessions on this Silicone Paint Mat that is easy to clean." They add that it is suitable for children aged three and up.

While images on their website show two paint mats, they are actually sold separately.
